Un viaggiatore del tempo.
La sua macchina temporale portata in spalla e pronta ad aprire una porta sulla storia… Quella di Armando Mancini è una vita difficile da capire, bisogna superare il convenzionale, bisogna seguirlo nei suoi viaggi nel tempo, bisogna crederci alla sua Napoli perché solo così si intuisce cosa lega un uomo alla sua terra, alla sua città…
Uno scrutatore nostalgico che ha abituato i suoi occhi a guardare al di là del reale, nelle sue foto si consacra l’amore, il sacro legame tra l’arte e il tempo ma anche la loro lotta per la sopravvivenza.
I luoghi che Armando Mancini ci propone sono le vie per giungere al suo animo ormai disperso tra i vicoli scuri e stretti, le vie larghe e affollate, i balconi dirimpettai che si aprono solo ai raggi di sole delle belle giornate napoletane e gli angoli conosciuti e guardati mille volte… gli stessi che lui guarda col cuore; e come sono diversi! Ecco perché ci incantiamo, ecco perché la realtà delle sue foto diventa la proiezione di un mondo bivalente tra lui e Napoli… un conto sospeso dalla nascita.
Le foto di Armando Mancini ci incantano, eppure noi vediamo la città, guardata tante volte, e ogni volta scopriamo di non averla mai vista veramente…
Se c’è una magia in Napoli, solo pochi riescono a realizzarla e uno di quei pochi è Armando Mancini.

His time machine carried on his shoulder and ready to open a door on history… Armando Mancini’s life is difficult to understand, you have to overcome the conventional, you have to follow him on his journeys through time, you have to believe in his Naples because that’s the only way to understand what binds a man to his land, to his city…
A nostalgic scrutineer who has accustomed his eyes to looking beyond reality, in his photos love is consecrated, the sacred bond between art and time but also their struggle for survival.
The places that Armando Mancini proposes to us are the ways to reach his soul now lost among the dark and narrow alleys, the wide and crowded streets, the opposite balconies that open only to the rays of the sun on the beautiful Neapolitan days and the well-known and look at yourself a thousand times… the same ones he looks at with his heart; and how different they are! This is why we are enchanted, this is why the reality of his photos becomes the projection of a bivalent world between him and Naples… a score suspended since his birth.
Armando Mancini’s photos enchant us, yet we see the city, looked at many times, and each time we discover that we have never really seen it…
If there is magic in Naples, only a few manage to realize it and one of those few is Armando Mancini.
