Uno sguardo su Venezia

Venezia è una città che ha sempre esercitato una notevole influenza sulla mia curiosità fotografica. La prima volta che l'ho visitata e fotografata risale all'anno 1977, in aprile, ma di quella visita, oltre al ricordo bene inciso nella mia mente e nei miei occhi, mi è rimasto ben poco, solo poche stampe e qualche negativo superstite, in non buone condizioni, mentre il resto è andato disperso nel tempo. A distanza di quarant'anni, confortato e assistito anche da una maturità umana e professionale notevolmente cresciute, sono tornato per riparare al danno. Insomma ho respirato l'aria di Venezia, città unica al mondo, forse lontana dal mio essere napoletano, ma certamente vicina alla mia continua ricerca di sensazioni profonde. / Venice is a city that has always exerted a profound influence on my photographic curiosity. The first time I visited and photographed it dates back to April 1977; however, of that visit—beyond the memory deeply etched in my mind and eyes—very little remains. Only a few prints and some surviving negatives in poor condition have stayed with me, while the rest has been lost to time. Forty years later, comforted and supported by a significantly matured human and professional perspective, I returned to repair that loss. In short, I breathed the air of Venice—a city unique in the world, perhaps far from my Neapolitan nature, yet certainly close to my constant search for deep sensations.
